Caribou-Expeditions Kayak Courses

We offer sea kayak courses and clinics throughout the summer, at our base on Goulais Bay, or at Havilland Bay. Please call for additional dates as our course schduele may change throughout the summer.

C1: Sea Kayaking Basics and Rescues:
$125, Weekends beginning May 29, 1 day (call for additional dates)

Course is partitined into two half-day courses (Basics - 3 hours), followed by Rescues - 3 hours. (taken seperately, $75/each). Paddling and safety instruction is a necessity if you are new to kayaking and intend to rent. Throughout the summer, we offer these courses on weekends at Havilland Bay on Lake Superior, and at our base on Goulais Bay

C2: Introduction to Kayaking (Sea Kayak Level 1):
$270, June 5 - 6; June 19 - 20 2 days

Ready to get your feet wet? This two-day course will teach you the basic elements of equipment, paddling strokes, basic navigation, and rescue techniques. The course offers certification for Paddle Canada "Sea Kayak Level 1".

C3: Wilderness Kayaking:
$270, June 5 - 6; June 19 - 20, 2 days

Course designed for kayak owners with previous experience and training. Includes night navigation, high bracing, eskimo rolling, and surf landings in the wilderness setting of Lake Superior Provincial Park
